Well, well . . .
Fort Wilson Riot will return to the stage on August 16th for the first time since finishing our encore run of Idigaragua this past spring. We'll be rocking the Sqare Lake Film & Music Festival with an original score for George Melies' silent film, The Devilish Tenant. We'll also be rocking a set of brand new material that we've been working on . . .
And it'll be with some changes. Joe Goggins, the bass-playing-beatboxing-gruff-voiced-dudeorama has since left the band to pursue some shit down in Guam or something. We think he's helping Tony Starks make some magical toys. But to fill his shoes we've got two friends of ours to help out (one for each shoe). Rob Schlette, mix-master of all things FWR in the past and fellow stage presence in the Idigaragua performances will be rocking the guitar and probably some other toys. And we've got Kristoff, aka the Philander from Dance Band, rocking the bass thump. As sad as we are to see Joe go, it's been a pleasure working with these fellas.
So, whether it's been three months or three years since you last saw FWR come on down to the festival in August. You can even camp out. Better yet, ride your bike and it's practically free. Some dude in a van will even haul your shit out there so you don't have to carry a tent on your handlebars. Visit www.squarelakefestival.com for more info and to get tickets. Other acts include Happy Apple, Black Blondie, The Owls, Spaghetti Western String Company, The Dad In Common, Ragassa, Robert Everest, To Kill A Petty Bourgeoisie, and Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles. And of course a shit-ton of films for your enjoyment!
